Casa Artist in Residence: Andrew Legg Brings A Foot- Stomping Good Time to Lethbridge 7:00pm Free

Lethbridge, AB. Casa welcomes performing artist, Andrew Legg to Casa September 25 to October 22, 2017.

As part of the Artist in Residence program, he is using space in the building to workshop and rehearse a new
performance piece set in the south. This Bluegrass musical entitled, COTTON PATCH GOSPEL, will star Legg
and his Tall Bridge Boys and is being directed by Jeremy Mason.

The COTTON PATCH GOSPEL poses the question: What if Jesus was born in 1950 in Gainesville Georgia?
The result is a toe-tapping romp of the greatest story ever... re-told. This piece will challenge and delight. Written by Tom Key and Russell Treyz with music and lyrics by Harry Chapin. Directed by former New West Artistic Director, Jeremy Mason and music and vocals by Cody Parr, Kurt Ciesla and Matt Cameron. As part of the residency requirements, the public is invited to an open rehearsal and question and answer session with the artist in residence. Learn more about the process of creating musicals and one man shows. The piece will be in its rough form and may start and stop depending on the rehearsal process. The open rehearsal will be an intimate look at the creation process.

FREE OPEN REHEARSAL DETAILS:
Date: Saturday, October 7
Time: 7:00 – 9:30pm
Location: ATB Financial Community Room
