Artist Kiosks

Artist Kiosks

Conceived in 2018 as a legacy project of the AAC 60th Anniversary, the artist kiosks in Rotary Square provide a unique opportunity for artists. Two reclaimed shipping containers have been transformed into flexible artist space with the addition of electricity, track lighting, slat wall and solid surface flooring. These spaces can be booked by artists and artisans to be a pop-up exhibition space or utilized as an art exploration and installation space. In addition, festivals and events in Rotary Square have the ability to rent the artist kiosks to augment their activities in the square. The artist kiosks have been utilized for Arts Days, Wide Skies Music Festival, City of Lethbridge community events and summer BBQs.

These two artist kiosks are part of a pilot program with the City of Lethbridge. Upon completion of the pilot project in 2021 and barring negative feedback, the intention is to construct an additional two kiosks for the use of artists. Partial funding for the artist kiosks was provided by the Community Foundation of Lethbridge and Southwestern Alberta.
