AP – Brush Lab: Chinese Calligraphy

AP – Brush Lab: Chinese Calligraphy

Tuesdays, 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM

Registration ends February 10th, 2026

Do you feel painting is difficult? This workshop offers a refreshing perspective: if you can write, you can paint! Using a bamboo brush, ink, and mineral pigments, participants will be introduced to the history of calligraphy and painting through figures such as Yan Zhenqing (颜真卿)and Bada Shanren (八大山人), and then move on to exploring brush techniques and creating symbolic characters. For the community, this workshop is more than an introduction—it’s a chance to unlock the hidden power of brush and ink. You’ll get to play with characters that look bold, strange, and fascinating, then turn them into striking artworks. And just in time for Lunar New Year, you can paint your own lucky character to hang at home, filling your space with blessing, energy, and a touch of mystery.

Beginners welcome. Materials provided.
