Understand the fundamental practice of drawing using essential materials: newsprint, rag paper, pencil, and charcoal. Explore pastels, pencil crayons, felt and paint markers to add colour and playfulness to your drawings. Students will learn about perspective, value, mark making, contour, contrast, and negative space while working from still life and photo references. This is an excellent starter class to develop drawing skills that will inform further artistic practice.

Inside the guide find listings for the upcoming class and workshop schedule, upcoming exhibitions at The Gallery, information about artists in residence and seasonal events in the building. Program guides are free. Pick-up guides at Casa or at facilities throughout the city.
