It’s that time of year! The Allied Arts Council of Lethbridge is bringing you a very helpful ART/Work Professional Development Session – Brush Up On Your Taxes with Stephanie Hogan. This session is designed for artists and creative professionals who want to better understand their tax obligations and strengthen their financial knowledge. Stephanie will walk participants through key distinctions between employment and self employment, including how CPP and EI contributions apply.
This session will also explore factors that determine whether you are considered a contractor or an employee, such as control, tools and equipment, financial risk, opportunity for profit, subcontracting, and responsibility for investment or management. Attendees will gain practical insights that can help them make informed decisions, stay compliant, and manage their artistic practice with confidence. Suitable for emerging and established creatives or anyone looking to build a stronger business foundation that supports their craft.
