Join Xi Jin for an artist talk and in-progress presentation of the work created while at Casa. Learn about her practice, which intersects installation, print, and sculpture.
Artist Biography:
Xi Jin (she/her) grew up in the heart of Beijing, China, and spent over a decade in Canada for studying and living. From an early age, she would experiment with different mediums which would mold her interest in art as it was fine tuned eventually at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design from 2014 – 2017. She has not only experienced in working with the design area, but She is also a visual artist and poet, now complete a MFA program from the University of Alberta, 2021. Xi Jin’s experimental practice focuses on print media, video, photography, the installation makes use of everyday objects and situations to shed light on language and perception. Her work also relates to the interdisciplinary study of material, form, and structure.
