Wandering Between – Sidney Frenette-Ling

My art practice includes printmaking, digital and traditional sculpture, as well as poetry.  In this body of work, my writings “Twenty Floating Petals” and “All I Want to be is Goo” have provided me some of the inspiration for both image and process.

In the process of creation, I explore how our physical bodies and experiences are altered by the digital age. As I work with both new and age-old technologies such as computer software and aquatint etching, I aim to practice with a sensitivity to the intricacies of each method. During my creative explorations, I hone in on moments of success and failure that emphasize the nature of material.

Sidney Frenette-Ling is a Canadian multidisciplinary artist from Markham, Ontario. Residing in Lethbridge, Alberta, he is completing a BFA in Art Studio with a minor in Marketing at the University of Lethbridge.
