The Gallery at Casa is hosting Cabinet of Queeriosities V, a celebration of 2SLGBTQI+ history, identity, culture, and pride through a diverse range of subject matter and approaches.
Cabinets of Curiosities (or Wunderkammers) were collections of objects that would later be separated into the distinct categories of geology, ethnography, archaeology, religious or historical relics, works of art, and antiquities. During the Renaissance, these collections were displayed together in what are now considered early precursors to the modern museum.
This exhibition is about inclusivity rather than exclusivity and strives to present a range of voices across a variety of media. It is our hope that Cabinet of Queeriosities V provokes open dialogue around issues of identity and diversity within our community.
