How much should you get paid as a visual artist? This professional development session will help artists better understand fair compensation for their work, from exhibition fees to contracts and professional collaborations. Stacey Cann, Executive Director of CARFAC Alberta, will introduce the CARFAC/RAAV Minimum Fee Schedule, and share best practices to help artists advocate for appropriate payment, establish clear expectations, and build positive working relationships with galleries, arts organizations, promoters, and partners.
Founded in 1968, Canadian Artists’ Representation / Le Front des artistes canadiens (CARFAC) is the national voice of Canada’s professional visual artists. CARFAC advocates for artists’ economic and legal rights while fostering a fair, sustainable, and thriving visual arts sector.
