Be part of the exciting barrel firing process! Learn clay hand building techniques from Artist in Residence Tania Craan to create hollow, organic pod forms inspired by natural seed structures. Then prepare bisque-fired pods for the barrel, through burnishing, application of combustibles and packing the barrel. Come back the following day to reveal the fired ceramics.
Day 1 – Clay handbuilding, time to make your ceramic seed pods
Day 2 – Barrel firing, guidance through the firing process
Day 3 – Show and tell, gather to see what has been made
This workshop is suitable for all levels, from beginners to advanced. Materials provided.
