This beginner friendly weekend workshop introduces students to mold making for ceramics. Focusing on mold making fundamentals, practical problem-solving and material considerations, students transform handmade clay models and found objects into reproducible ceramic forms. Participants will learn how to safely mix and handle plaster, create one part and two part molds, and use these molds to produce clay multiples.
Students are welcome to bring a small selection of found objects they are interested in replicating. Simple shapes/forms are best, guidance will be provided to ensure suitability. There will be a break at midday; registrants are encouraged to pack lunch, snacks and a water bottle. Materials provided.
