Workshop 1:

Bollywood: Rameez Karim

Dive into the magical world of Bollywood! This vibrant dance form exercises coordination, expression, stamina and feeling. With its roots stemming from Indian classical dances such as bharatanatyam and kathak, to different provincial, folk dances from around India, Bollywood is one of the few dance forms that is constantly evolving & drawing new inspirations from movement influencers within the industry. 

This class will allow you to explore the basic elements of Bollywood dance including body isolations, hand gestures (mudras), flow, footwork and theatrics. All levels are welcome.

Workshop 2:

Afro: Sofia El Iraki

Experience the catchy rhythms of African music while learning the basics of different Afro styles, such as Ndombolo, coupé coupé, Afrobeats and more. After warming up our bodies and hearts, we will explore some key elements of Afro dance technique through drills and short sequences. We will work on isolations, hip motions, footwork, posture, rhythm, musicality and coordination. Free your body and mind with the opportunity to learn a short choreography. All levels are welcome.
