CLAY TILES in the CLAY CLASSROOM with Aaron Hagan and Ethan Roth (ages 6+)
Create a clay tile depicting an image of your choosing, using tools to add texture, adding colour with underglaze, and carving designs with the sgraffito method. Tiles will be glazed and fired at Casa, and ready for pick-up 3 weeks later. Maximum 16 registrants per section

GELLI-PLATE MONOPRINTS in the 2D CLASSROOM with Emily Metherel (ages 6+)
Create your design on a gelli-plate with printing ink, adding elements for texture and covering parts of the plate for negative space. Press your plate onto paper and observe how the image changes in the translation! In contrast to other printing techniques where multiples are the goal, only one image is made, making this technique closer to painting or drawing. Maximum 10 registrants per section

TEXTILE ARTS in the TEXTILE STUDIO with Tyler Alexander and Teresa Heyburn (ages 8+)
Join Tyler and Teresa for the following textile workshops!
SECTION 1: Fabric Flowers (Adults) 11:00 – 11:45 am
Origami, the Japanese art of folding paper, is transferred to fabric. Learn to make hand sewn, fabric flowers, and enjoy putting colour and textures together. Maximum 12 registrants
SECTION 2: Textile Journals (Children, ages 8 – 12) 1:00 – 1:45 pm
Experience the versatility of fabric and create a personalized journal cover. Choose your favourite fabrics and learn how to manage cut raw edges. Come learn this skill so you and your friends can do it at home! Maximum 12 registrants
SECTION 3: Crochet Scrunchies (Youth, ages 12 – 15) 2:00 – 2:45 pm
Crochet is one of the oldest crafts for using left over yarn or small thrift store pieces. Learn how to chain stitch and double crochet all the while making a useful scrunchie. Maximum 10 registrants

CYANOTYPE AND VAN DYKE PRINTS in the DYE/DARK ROOM with Courtney Faulkner (ages 9+)
Celebrate the sun with these light-sensitive artmaking processes. Cyanotypes and Van Dyke prints use photosensitive chemicals on paper to create brilliant blue and sepia prints respectively. Participants will collage in low light, then take their creations outside to watch them develop in sunlight in mere minutes. Maximum 8 registrants per section

Group Fiddling with Alina Khvatova in Stephure Hall from the ULethbridge Conservatory of Music
Have you always wanted to try violin? Join Conservatory violin instructor, Alina Khvatova, for a crash course in fiddling. This will be a fun and supportive environment, open to everyone ages 10 and up! No experience is necessary.

Group Drumming with Marc Vantol in Stephure Hall from the ULethbridge Conservatory of Music
Join percussion expert, Marc Vantol, as he takes you on a sonic journey around the world! Participants will explore the bright interlocking rhythms of the Caribbean steel pan and feel the beat of the djembe!

MOVEMENT WORKSHOPS in the DANCE STUDIO with Pop Up Yoga, Beyond Limits Dance Collective, Lethbridge Independent Society of Dance Artists, and Haptic Dance Arts
Dress in comfortable movement clothing, socks or bare feet, and be ready to move your body in fun, explorative ways!
SECTION 1: Pop Up Yoga with Shonna Lamb (ages 13+) 11:00 – 11:45 am
Bring your yoga mat for this playful, all-levels, vinyasa flow class. Pop Up Yoga aims to make yoga accessible to as many people as possible by creating an inclusive space. They have been teaching classes in the Casa Dance Studio nearly as long as our building has been open! Maximum 30 registrants
SECTION 2: Beyond Limits Dance Collective with Callista Chasse (ages 16+) 1:00 – 1:45 pm
Beyond Limits Dance Collective warmly invites adults of all abilities, genders, and bodies to join them for an accessible dance class. In our relaxed, inclusive space, you can create, learn, and try out many types of dance/movement. No prior dance experience necessary! Maximum 25 registrants
SECTION 3: Basic Fight Choreography with Brent Clark (ages 14+) 2:00 – 2:45 pm
Students will learn the basic fundamentals of stage fight choreography in this theatre workshop. The focus will be on basic hand-to-hand moves, safety, and vocabulary. Maximum 25 registrants
SECTION 4: Family Dance with Claire Lint (Families, ages 5+) 3:00 – 3:45 pm
Family Dance is an all-ages class focused on moving with your loved ones! Using Creative Movement and Jazz Dance techniques, participants will enjoy a full-body warm-up followed by across-the-floor exercises and a short combination.  Sure to be fun for the whole family, we’ll get you moving, dancing, and laughing in no time. Maximum 20 registrants
