Devising Stories in the Body – Casa AiR Workshop

Devising Stories in the Body – Casa AiR Workshop

This two-hour theatre workshop by Artist in Residence Gabrielle Houle leads participants through a process that uses movements to create stories. The session will include a warm-up, group exercises, and the collective creation of short stories for the theatre. Teenagers and young adults are encouraged to participate.

Please wear clothes that allow for a wide range of movements.

Gabrielle Houle is a multilingual artist, educator, translator, and theatre scholar who specializes in masked performance, movement for actors, oral history of performance, and the creation of masks. While in residence she will be collaborating with a local actor, sound designer, and choreographer to workshop the first English translation of Simon a toujours aimé danser by Simon Boulerice (trans. Justin A. Blum), a queer solo performance for older teens and young adults.
